The other day J came home with an early birthday present for me. I do feel a not insignificant amount of guilt over this indulgence. Our current budget doesn't really have a lot of padding (none) in the tech toys just cause you want them department (or any of the other expenditure categories if we're being honest here). But it being my hearts desire I've been able to cope with the guilt. Is it everything I thought it would be you ask? Oh yes and so much more. I Luuuv my iPad. It's not natural. It is my new constant companion. I would be ashamed to admit the amount of time we spend together. At some point yesterday J pointed out that we had pretty much just been endlessly discussing my apps. Didn't I tell you how terribly over indulgent my guy can be. In my defense this early gift is connected to a milestone birthday. Not the biggest but getting close. Add that to my squeezing out (metaphorically speaking) another kid and you can see why the iPad seems less outrageous right? Just more pathetic attempts to assuage my guilt. And what do we see under that sexy beast? Why a big pile of lust. What a glorious week of mail it is when these little lovelies arrive. What do you know Jenna does it again. I flipped through those familiar pages and fell hard. (My love affair with J Crew is way longer then my affair with apple. I mean pre Jenna, old school JC.) I then cried big salty baby tears because none of the looks can be currently carried off by my post pregnancy body. What else? The long awaited new styling at Ikea. It speaks to me. It feels more accessible. J upon seeing it said of course it speaks to me it's much more "hell hole" ( for those of you unfamiliar with said term it loosely defines as cluttered). I say yes but Scandinavian hell hole with just the right amount of minimalism to make you feel organized. All in all a very merry unbirthday.
Seeriously...you crack me up. I'm laughing so hard. Truly - I love your writing.
I haven't seen the new Ikea stylilngs...but will be researching after I hit -post!
Sounds like a lovely birthday - Happy Day...whenever it is. :)
